Glenn Balzer is passionate about God’s presence in the city, especially as seen in multi-cultural relationships, economic diversity and the power of God’s people serving together. Seventeen years as director of a national non-profit and its internal audits of racism, economic health and consensus leadership give Glenn a unique perspective. Glenn currently serves as the National Director of DOOR (Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection). He is an active member and on the regular preaching rotation at His Love Fellowship, Denver, CO.

Glenn was born and raised in Northern British Columbia, Canada.  He earned his BA at Briercrest Bible College in Saskatchewan.  In 1988 he moved from Regina, Saskatchewan to Fresno, California to attend Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary where he earned an MA in Theology.

While at seminary he served as the Assistant Pastor at Clovis United Methodist Church.  Upon completion of his seminary training in 1991, he moved to Denver, Colorado to become the Associate Pastor at Belleview Acres Church with responsibilities as Youth Minister.  In the fall of 1994 Glenn assumed the directorship of the DOOR program.  From January 1999 through October 2005 Glenn also served as Pastor at Garden Park Mennonite Brethren Church while continuing to give leadership to DOOR.

Glenn is married to Rita and they have two teen-aged boys, Kyle and Quinten.  The Balzer family enjoys camping in Colorado and dirt-biking on the weekends.

Glenn maintains a regular blog at www.glennbalzer.com.

Glenn is available to speak on a variety of urban faith issues and concerns. If you’d like to contact Glenn or invite him to speak, please send an email to glenn@doornetwork.org.
